The kids are out of school, you've got mounting vacation days, or you just need a break: It's summertime and we've got some summer vacation ideas for you. Whether you're a foodie looking for a warm weather lunch fix, a family in desperate need of some sunshine, or a couple looking to get away from it all, there's no better time to plan an escape than summer. So get that planning underway and look into these five fun summer vacation ideas that make everyone happy.

Summer Vacation Ideas for Couples: Hide Away in Philly
While a bustling city isn't the first place you'd think of to get away from it all, there are quiet little corners of Philadelphia where you can be within minutes from everything you need and yet feel that much sought after intimacy. Rittenhouse Square is a popular but nearly idyllic neighborhood where colonial buildings, boutiques and cafes are the norm. If you're an art lover, look out for sculptures in the park, as well as local vendors selling homemade wares.

Where to Stay: Kimpton's Hotel Palomar is a sexy choice for a couples hideaway. Hosted wine hours, in-room yoga and spa sessions, stunning city views and a fun mini-bar assure you that you'll never have to leave the room if you don't want to. If you want to venture out for food, head downstairs to the design-friendly Square1682, the first Philly restaurant to get LEED certification.

Summer Vacation Ideas for the Family: Get Sun Some in San Diego
Splash around the waves with little ones in tow on San Diego's infamous Coronado Beach, a favorite of locals, visitors, and expert travelers alike. Because it's a city beach, you'll find people from all walks of life, including other families to get along with. After you've all gotten some Vitamin D, leave the sand and surf behind and explore the city. The most family-friendly part? The Gaslamp District where fun restaurants welcome little fingers and the San Diego Padres play baseball just steps away.

Where to Stay: The Marriott San Diego is just steps from the Gaslamp District, has spacious, comfy rooms and features a breakfast package so you don't have to pull the family out of bed in the morning and go find food. The large flatscreens, in-room Starbucks coffee and available wi-fi also help adults ease into the day.

Summer Vacation Ideas for Foodies: Eat Out in Las Vegas
The bright lights, the sounds of the slot machines – Vegas is like Disneyland for adults. But in recent years, Sin City has toned down its clubbing atmosphere and picked up the slack in food options. Amazing gems like Morels at the Palazzo are quiet and luxurious, with a 'Bloody Cart' where Bloody Mary cocktails are created tableside, and 70+ wines available by the glass or bottle. Down the Strip at Monte Carlo you can taste a sample of sweet Italian yumminess at d.vino, where an authentic cheese and salami bar is both delicious and unpretentious.

Where to Stay: There are many great lodging options in Las Vegas, but true foodies will want to shack up at City Center's Aria, which is right in the middle of all the action. Inside City Center itself you'll find many small cafes and restaurants, but the chic design and amazing center-Strip spot makes it a complete winner.

Summer Vacation Ideas for Adventure Lovers: Take to the Sky in Bucks County
This summer, adventure seekers all over will hop on a plane, strap on some hiking boots and take to Pennsylvania's Bucks County, an idyllic countryside where gorgeous hill after gorgeous hill convince you to keep walking. For a unique experience, leave the land for the sky and explore the area by hot air balloon. The United States Hot Air Balloon Team offers daily rides (based on weather) including a champagne reception back on land.

Where to Stay: The Sheraton Bucks County may be a chain hotel, but it's big on individual style. Something like the mix of a serene lodge and skyscraper, you'll get lots of rest and relaxation after your day of adventure with a jacuzzi, sauna and club room inside the building.

Summer Vacation Ideas for Solo Travelers: See the Sights in New York City
The 'City that Never Sleeps' is so packed full of people, it's difficult to feel alone, even if you're traveling solo. Whether you're perusing the latest exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, taking in a foreign film at the Angelika movie theater or enjoying a walking tour, solo travelers are more than welcome in New York City. Don't mind the old rumors, too – New Yorkers are very friendly and willing and able to answer any question visitors might have!

Where to Stay: Treat yourself to wide open spaces at the Roosevelt where suite-like rooms are standard and come with living rooms, dining areas and super-large bathrooms. The hotel has three popular lounges and is only steps from Grand Central Station and the restaurants and shops that make Midtown as popular as it is.

Summer Vacation Ideas for Sun-Seekers: Share Some Laughs in Atlantic City
Don't want to hop on a plane but anxious for the beach this summer? Atlantic City is a sunny trip down memory lane, with amusement park rides, carnival games, street food and, of course, a gorgeous East Coast beach. Whether you're in need a quick weekend escape, or can't wait to shack-up near the coast for a few weeks, AC is a home away from home and has something for every personality - kids, families and singles welcome.

Where to Stay: Though there are plenty of great casino/hotels nearby, Caesars Atlantic City is just as posh as its Las Vegas counterpart and has a mall just as expansive! After you've gotten a sugar high at the in-house candy boutique or bought yourself a new outfit at one of the many clothing boutiques, settle in for a stunning view of the waves from the hotels promenade.

These are all great ideas and like that you varied based on different interests. I would suggest too, that readers consider renting a car for their adventures as well. That way you can travel wherever, whenever you want and explore off the beaten path. This is a helpful article I came across http://bit.ly/CarsToRent that offers some of the pros for car rental.
