The pope is coming.

That's the word, anyway. There's no official confirmation (otherwise it'd be The Word), but recent reports have stated that Pope Francis may be planning his first papal visit to the United States. He'll likely attend the Vatican-sponsored World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in September 2015 with a possible stop in New York to address the United Nations.

Here's hoping the pontiff takes the opportunity to see a little more of the country during his visit. These five cities are good fits.

As The Bridges of Madison County musical opens today on Broadway, sales of the book by Robert James Waller are expected to resurge. Rentals of the 1995 movie starring Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep also should get a bump.

But better than the book, the movie and the musical combined is a visit to the real Madison County and those beautiful and very real covered bridges.

Sunday marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles playing on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Fab Four's first U.S. television appearance. To commemorate the occasion, New York City's Ed Sullivan theater (now home to The Late Show with David Letterman) unveiled a special marquee; the New York Port Authority placed a historical marker at JFK International Airport, where The Beatles held their first press conference; and CBS is airing a two-hour tribute Sunday at 8 p.m. EST, "The Beatles: The Night That Changed America -- A Grammy Salute."

But just as Abbey Road is the group's best-selling album, a visit to the setting of its iconic cover -- outside Abbey Road Studios in London -- has got to be the top Beatles-related travel destination.
