Nowadays, adventure travel is all about exploring the senses: what you can see, do, taste and touch while traveling, and it doesn't even have to be that adventurous. From shopping a massively colorful market in India to taste-testing in Macau, here are 5 overseas adventures for every type of traveler.

Take an animal excursion in Rwanda
Seeing animals in a zoo is one thing, but seeing them in their natural habitat is another. Take a walk on the wild side and book a trek up Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park. While hiking up a mountain, wander through towering forests of bamboo, along scarily-steep hillsides and around swarms of huge creepy crawlers. At the end of the trek, though, visitors come face-to-face with adorable fuzzy gorilla babies, rolling around and romping through the weeds, as well as Silverback, the head honcho of the gorilla family. Being just feet from these gargantuan primates in the middle of the woods is an exhilarating experience.

When booking a trip to warm, sexy Rio de Janeiro, most travelers grab their bathing suit and little else, but Rio has one amazing under-utilized attraction that will change people's perceptions of the The Marvelous City. Tijuca National Park, better known as the home of Christ the Redeemer, is 8,000 acres of native flora and fauna. One of the largest urban forests in the entire world, the park boasts 30+ waterfalls and hundreds of types of plant life. Tastebud Overload in Macau
As part of the People's Republic of China, millions of visitors flock to Macau to experience the opulent glitz and over-the-top glamor (not to mention fantastic dumplings and dim sum) of this unique region. But there's more to the cuisine here than delicious pork buns. Put down those chopsticks and pull-up a plate of the amazing Iberian meals offered on this once Portuguese-owned island. Though the Portuguese left in 1999, Portuguese heritage is bursting from the seems of the little island, where young, hip Portuguese artists and chefs are known to flock. A Lorcha, boasting a 15th century Chinese temple in view, has the best meal in Macau, a spicy cacciatore-style meat dish called African Chicken. Or grab a seat at Michellin-rated Antonio's for the seafood stew, curried prawns and lots of theatrics from Chef Antonio Coelho.

Enjoy a royal jaunt in Prague
Among the most spectacular sites in this medieval city is Pražský Hrad. Like something out of a Disney fairytale, Prague Castle, the largest castle of its kind in the world, rises above the cobble-stoned landscape with its imposing structure outfitted in five churches and four palaces, not to mention the Bohemian crown jewels. Architecture fans will love the change from Gothic to Romanesque styles. Climb high and get a stunning view of the famous Charles Bridge, several local puppet shops and Old Town Square, all visible from the high perch.

Get Lost in Agra
Flea market fanatics flock to Agra. This corner of India's famous Golden Triangle is known for the Taj Mahal, but dig a little deeper and there are massive markets that dot the city. Kinari Bazaar, right in the city center, is known for its Indian wedding specialties, which means gold and silver bangles, brocade frocks and miles and miles and silk, used for veils. Next, hit up Sadar Bazaar, great for haggling leather and marble goods. Make one final stop at the authentic stalls of Shilpagram, just outside the Taj. Visiting adventure travelers and fashionista's love this market for the handmade by local craftsmen shiny souvenirs laden with jewels and gems.

Peanuts, crackerjacks and home runs: baseball stadiums are the stuff summer is made of. Luckily, there are 29 stadiums in the U.S., each ripe for a summer time visit. There are 5 ballparks, however, that stand out as their own kind of Mecca to fans.

Wrigley Field
Try to ignore the Cub's losing streak and enjoy the history of this 1914-built stadium. Smaller than your average ballpark (it's the country's 10th smallest), Wrigley Field boasts outfield walls swarming in ivy and a hand-turned scoreboard. Soak-up the baseball nostalgia that has played host to the filming of movies like "A League of Their Own," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Rookie of the Year," and countless TV shows. Take a photo underneath that iconic red marquee; hardcore fans can shell out for a daily tour that includes visits to the press box, clubhouses and dugouts.

Fenway Park
The oldest stadium currently in use, Fenway is modest and unassuming from the outside, and anything but inside. The stadium is now home to new solar panels; the Red Sox were the first team in the Major Leagues to try out this green initiative. Fans around the country come here to honor baseball's tradition. Book early for a tour and spy on players during batting practice, and plan ahead for 2012, the stadium's centennial, when Fenway will undoubtedly plan the season of a lifetime.

Camden Yards
Enjoy sweeping views of Baltimore's Inner Harbor from the recently renovated Camden Yards. After it's 1992 makeover, the stadium's wide walkways and spacious design were not only commended, but have been duplicated in several new parks. The retro-cool park was created around the base of a former railroad center and is just minutes from another baseball legend: the birthplace of Babe Ruth. While it's a newbie, the stadium has already seen some exciting games and milestones like Cal Ripken Jr.'s 2,131st game - breaking Lou Gehrig's former record- and Eddie Murray's 500th home run.

AT&T Park
In the past 9 years this park has been known as Pacific Bell Park and SBC Park before taking a namesake after AT&T. But who needs a name when it's located right smack on the edge of San Francisco Bay? Besides stellar views, the unique setting has been known to assist games in crucial times, like when balls soar over the 24-foot high right field wall, named in honor of Willie Mays and into the adjacent cove, named for Willie McCovey. The park is even a destination for non-sports fan; the stadium boasts free Wi-Fi and a 'make your own mascot store' featuring the San Francisco Giants' mascot, Lou Seal.

Citi Field
One of two new ballparks gifted to New Yorkers in recent years, Citi Field is not so much an homage to former Mets home Shea Stadium, as it is a mecca of fantastic ballpark food. Here, fans can enjoy plates of sushi, expertly made rum cocktails and even sweet treats from Manhattan burger sweetheart Shake Shack. Tai Pan Bakery, known for delicious and authentic Chinese treats, has an outpost here, as does Kozy Shack, who has an entire kiosk full of gluten-free meals. Fans can get their shop on at boutiques like the Mets Museum and Touch by Alyssa Milano, where cute baseball styles for women abound.

Las Vegas is hardly lacking in the night life department. Yet there are such a plethora of spots in this mecca of fun that figuring out where to spend time (and money) is half the battle. Put indecision aside and grab a drink or plate at these stellar newcomers and oldies but goodies that won't disappoint.

The Playboy Club
The iconic little bunny tails live on at The Playboy Club, Hef's namesake. But this spot has come a long way since the days of gentlemen smoking cigars. At today's Playboy Club, expect hip-hop music, VIP gaming tables and views from the top of The Palms.

Inside the Chandelier
The best thing about this Cosmopolitan stunner? It's still kind of a secret. Sandwiched on the middle floor of the new hotel's iconic chandelier centerpiece, the little bar is managed by an expert molecular mixologist who concocts sweet drinks with edible plants and freeze dried fruit. Try the Verbena cocktail, which includes an edible flower called the 'buzz button' that pops open, or the Madame Curry, a very spicy Thai-inspired drink. The bar also has TK# private gaming booths.

Pure Nightclub
With 30,000 feet of dancing space, pink strobe lights and a plush red VIP section, Pure couldn't be any sexier if it tried. Yet the staff here is more helpful and less ego-damaging than nearby nightclubs. The current sweetheart of the Vegas clubs scene, this Caesars venue is filled to the brim with sweaty dancers by midnight, so arrive early.

Dragon Noodle Co.
Hear that? It's your stomach and it's asking you to find a meal after your long night hopping through all those Vegas clubs. Stop in to Monte Carlo's Dragon Noodle Co. for the kitsch factor - it's loaded with paper lanterns and smiling cat figures. But stay for the surprisingly authentic menu of huge plates; try the Wok Tossed Garlic Eggplant and the Singapore Rice Noodles.

Sugar Factory
A brand new venture right inside Paris Las Vegas, Sugar Factory is one part candy store, two parts epic Las Vegas club. Comfort food staples get a sweet makeover with top menu items like Red Velvet Pancakes and Chocolate Pizza. For a tasty nightcap, the Chocolate Lounge features premiere chocolatiers and gourmet fondue to be paired with the champagne or dessert wine of your choice. Stop into the eatery's retail outlet which stocks their namesake crystal-studded lollipops popular with celebs like Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears.

Part lazy river, part jungle exploration, cave tubing is an adventure sport for adventure beginners; a theme park ride in the wild. You don't need a particular skill or a lot of courage, and all ages can give it a try. Here's everything you need to know to prepare for your cave tubing adventure.

Who is cave tubing for?

Cave tubing is a great activity for families, singles, or couples and groups are not a problem. As long as you have a guide and a tube, you're set to go off in search of your path and explore this unique and historical side of Belize. While you don't need to know how to swim, it's recommended.

How do we arrive at the caves?

Depending on where you start out, most cave tubing tour companies will drive you as far as they can and lead you to the water through 20- or 30-minute hikes. Looking for a unique summer getaway? When it's summer in the United States, countries south of the hemisphere are in the throes of winter. However, with average temperatures around 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit, it's a perfect time to see these normally smoldering cities. For a unique summer getaway that's filled with sun, sand and plenty of fun, hit up Rio de Janeiro and its three main beaches.

Ipanema Beach
The sexiest of Rio's beaches, Ipanema is famous for the scantily clad men and women who spend their time sunning here. If you love people-watching, you'll love the scene in Ipanema. In fact, their bathing suits are nicknamed "fio dental," or "dental floss." While the winter months will leave the beaches and hotels a little less packed, it's a perfect time to grab your own space, enjoy that 70 degree weather, and check out the shorts and t-shirts that come with a Brazilian winter.

Copacabana Beach
Fun and funky, Copacabana is where most Rio visitors head for summer getaways, and why shouldn't they? Copa is 4km of pristine sands and soft waves. If you're heading to Europe for the first time, it can be a little confusing. After all, there are so many activities to take in during such a short time. But for a real treat, save your money on all of those expensive restaurants within view of the landmarks of the great cities of the world and eat like a local. Europe is famous for a great variety of street food - all cheap and delicious. So, if you're looking for Europe travel tips, pass by those expensive eateries and don't miss these five bargain bites around the world.

Rome is all about the espresso bar.
Don't bring your box of Cheerios to Rome; if you want to eat breakfast like a Roman, head to an espresso bar. These tiny pastry shops are stocked with croissants, cookies, biscotti and other tasty bites as well as freshly brewed espresso. Make some time in your morning to sit down at the bar and have a sip, forgetting about that American Venti coffee on-the-go.

The most delicious street food in Paris is at the crepe stands.
France is full of some of the most beautiful people in the world, and by looking around you'd never know that they basically survive on the deliciously magical street food known as crepes. These yummy treats are like thin pancakes folded in half and stuffed with everything from ham and cheese to jam and whipped cream. A favorite is the Nutella flavor, a European hazelnut spread known for its near-chocolate texture and decadence. A full meal on the go, fish & chips is an English staple. If you're on the go, grab a plate at the local corner shop in London, or get an order and enjoy an outdoor table by the River Thames.

In Prague, lift your spirits with great mulled wine.
While it's not a meal, nothing is quite as good in the wintertime as a cup of soothing mulled wine. If you happen to be in Prague around the holidays, stop by the Christmas Market in Old Town and find a stand selling this inexpensive beverage. Not only will it keep you warm while you peruse the adorable craft stands, but it's got a strong, sweet taste that's like nothing back in the States.

Just a few blocks away from Miami's beautiful beaches, you can take a walk down a side street and get completely lost in the exotic flavor of your own South Beach vacation. Espanola Way is just a small area of South Beach, barely more than a few blocks long, but it delivers big style so spicy you'll forget you're just a few hours from home. Miami to the Florida Keys - The Overseas Highway
Though it may not be the first route that comes to mind when you consider road trip ideas, the overwater highway connecting Florida to the Keys is an experience not to be missed. The Overseas Highway, a 127-mile section of US Highway 1, will take you from just outside of Miami down to Key Largo, Marathon Key and finally, Key West. A highlight of the drive is the Seven-Mile Bride, a floating highway connecting Knight's Key to Little Duck Key. For the best trip possible, check traffic reports and times of the year; during busier days the 4-hour journey across the Keys can take much, much longer.

Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon - US 93 and the Hoover Dam

Rent a car and zip out of Vegas using US 93 when you tire of the glitter. You'll need to switch off to I-40 to finally reach the West Rim, but this sparse desert highway, dotted with cacti, wild horses and far-away mountain-scapes is too good to miss. Before turning off of US 93, take a gander at the Hoover Dam, a modern marvel in its own right.

Classic USA - Route 66
Known as the "Main Street of America," Route 66 is what most people think of when they set out to take a trip and learn more about the U.S. As one of the original highways across the States, this road passes through Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma and others on the trip from Illinois to California. Of the quirky roadside stops dotting the highway, drivers can expect to find Chloride, an Arizona ghost town, a large shoe repair building shaped like a shoe in California, a Missouri Stonehenge and the old Idaho penitentiary. While the towns and attractions of Route 66 have seen better days, it's a great reminder of the American spirit that launched a million more innovative byways.

So you're going on a road trip across the United States. Congratulations! There's very few ways to get to know the US better than being out on the open road, visiting the small towns and byways that make this country what it is. But before you get in the car, gas up and hit the highway, you should take care to make sure a few items are ready and waiting in the car with you. Here are our top five essentials for road trips across the USA.

Road Trip USA Essentials: Atlas and Map.
Even if you have applications and digital direction devices, a map is a great old standby for discovering new places and finding your way out of precarious situations. Best of all, you can score them at nearly every gas station and five-and-dime for just a few bucks, making them one of the least expensive items you'll have on you during the trip.

Road Trip USA Essentials: Garbage Bags.
Being in the car for even just a few days can get very, very messy. One road trip helpful essential you need to have on you is garbage bags, regardless of whether you've stuffed a few plastic grocery bags in your glove box, or brought a reusable canvas bag to dump out. Having a spare instead of a donut is a safer option; the tire can be changed and you can be on your way in no time.
