Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort in Orlando, The Broadway Columbia (MO) and Hotel Indigo Rome – St. George: highlight the world's recent hotel openings.

Orlando, Florida: Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Opening earlier today -- the first guests' arrival is pictured at top (the Hicks family of St. Petersburg, Florida, in case you're wondering) -- the Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort is the fourth on-site hotel at the Orlando resort. The 1,800-room resort (900 suites + 900 standard guest rooms) was designed to hark back to the beach resorts of the 1950s and 1960s: hence the fitness center being named after Jack LaLanne. The resort has a 10,000-square-foot zero-entry pool (that means one end gradually slopes into the water, not that no one may enter the pool) with an 8,000-square-foot one set to open this summer. Rates start at $93 a night.

Columbia, Missouri: The Broadway Columbia - A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel

Located in The District, the 114-room LEED-certified Broadway Columbia - A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel offers easy access to Columbia, Missouri's arts district as well as the University of Missouri. Rooms include WiFi, HDTV and Egyptian bedding (it's a lot softer than papyrus actually). Also, chocolate chip cookie at check-in. And the hotel's restaurant is named ElevenEleven -- it goes to 11 twice, so you know it's gotta be a vibrant scene. Rates start at around $160.
Each of our rooms are LEED Green Certified and all rooms offer thoughtful features such as wired/wireless internet access, HD television/movie programming, coffee, refrigerators, Egyptian bedding, luxurious sofa and bed,walk-in showers in king rooms and access to The Roof. Prepare to have a place to retreat to after a long day of business or a game. Relax while still having access to the hotel amenities and the downtown scene. Our staff is here to deliver quality service in making your stay one to remember.

Rome, Italy: Hotel Indigo Rome - St. George

The 64-room Hotel Indigo Rome - St. George is just short walk from Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori, Trastevere, Castel Sant'Angelo, St. Peter's Square, the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. So it's convenient. But if you'd prefer to take in your Italian culture from bed, some rooms "are inspired by the greatness of the Renaissance with details of the paintings of Caravaggio and works of Bramante, others feature one of the icons of Italian '60s, the legendary Fiat 500." Rates start around 255€ ($350).
