Last week electronic cigarette manufacturer Gamucci launched what it claims is the world's first airport "vaping zone," in the departure lounge at Heathrow's Terminal 4, "The Economist" reports. "The opening marks a softening of Heathrow's traditional stance as a 'smoke-free airport', though the airport stresses that all forms of smoking remain forbidden everywhere else on the premises." Rather than emitting smoke as traditional cigarettes do, electronic cigarettes (or e-cigarettes) produce vapor.

According to the "International Business Times," the 325-square-foot Gamucci Zone is open from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and restricted to people 18 and older.
