Three years ago, Jason Bourcier blew through the booths on the Dulles Toll Road on his commute from Reston, Virginia to Washington, DC where he was looking for work, Reston Patch reports. Bourcier claimed a friend told him the booths were unmanned after 11:30 p.m., and that he could use the road without paying.

In a related story, the Virginia Department of Transportation took Bourcier to court this week, seeking more than $200,000 in unpaid tolls, fines and fees. A settlement was reached, but it'll leave the 33-year-old Bourcier making monthly payments into his eighties.

From the Patch story:

"They provided me with a stack of summonses that was 12 inches high, and me and my lawyers, the best that we could do was $40,000," he told the station [NBC Washington]. "Another kicker is they put me on a payment plan for $150 a month."

Bourcier, 33, is also on the hook for another $55,000 in interest, bringing his amount to a number he figures he'll be paying off until his late 80s.
