Alexis Bellino Real Housewives of OC

Summer's in full swing, and millions of Americans are plotting a beach escape -- for a day, a weekend or a luxurious longer stretch of sandy R&R.

We caught up with Alexis Bellino from The Real Housewives of Orange County for the inside scoop on her family day at Laguna Beach.

I am a: 36 year old wife, mother, fashion designer and a TV personality.

Your beach stay in 2 words: Crabby Fun.

What beach did you visit? Laguna Beach, CA

Who went with you? My husband and three children.

Where did you stay? At our home. The beach is only a few minutes from our house!

What's your must-do thing in this beach area? My kids are addicted to raking the sand for sand crabs. We will spend two hours simply finding crabs and putting them in our sand castle and then watching them bury themselves back into the sand.

You'd never go to the beach without packing: Lots of good snacks and Gatorade. I break the normal rule of healthy carrots sticks and apples, and on beach days I pack chips, fruit roll-ups, frozen grapes...things that taste good in the hot sun!

What's your beach soundtrack? I have three screaming kids under 7 years old... they are my soundtrack!

You'd be crazy to leave here without eating the: Rice Krispie treats that I often make the night before to take with us!

Your Beach Day:

8 a.m.: Eating a big breakfast of pancakes and eggs so our tummies are good and full for hours of beach fun.

11 a.m.: Loading up the car and heading to the beach.

1 p.m.: We have been crab hunting for over an hour now. I manage to pull the kids away for a very BRIEF turkey sandwich!

2:30 p.m.: Reapplying sunblock ... for the third time! My son James gets dark no matter how many layers of sunscreen I apply. My daughter Mackenna's cheeks are starting to get pink. I give the kids the 20 min warning, meaning we are leaving in 20 minutes! If I don't give the warning, it becomes a meltdown trying to leave. I bribe the kids that we will stop for ice cream cones on the way home. It works every time!

6 p.m.: We just finished showering all the sand off. We are chilling in the backyard while I barbecue chicken and corn on the cob. Kids are playing badminton or tag. Jim and I are exhausted and have poured a glass of wine while watching the kids burn even more unbelievably endless energy. Sigh...to be 7 years old again. Tonight will be an early night to bed, kids by 7:30 p.m., Jim and I by 10 p.m.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how badly do you want to go back to this beach? (1 = "Yuck, no thanks!" 10 = "Already have the next trip booked!"): For sure 10!

Alexis Bellino stars in Bravo's Real Housewives of Orange County, which airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. EST.
