Obidos, Portugal Captured In Tilt Shift (VIDEO)

The Portuguese city of Obidos has seen more than its fair share of history since its Roman days, but as the delightful video below shows, a few cars and a train are all that separate the city's past from the present.

The sheep still need herding and the grapes are still plucked by hand for espumantes, Portuguese champagne.

This walled city has attracted tourists for ages precisely because it is removed from the modern hustle and bustle. A giant fort overlooks farmland and white homes topped with neat red roofs.

The tilt shift video below may seem to minimize the place, but it maximizes its charm and makes a hell of an argument for living small.
