Terje Sorgjerd Time Lapse of Norway's Lofoten Archipelago (VIDEO)

Filmed between April 29 and May 10, the video shows what Sorgjerd calls his "favorite natural phenomenon."

He deems this phenomenon, one that he cannot identify even with the help of meteorologists and astrophysicists, the "Arctic Light." It occurs two to four weeks before the Midnight Sun.

Of the light, Sorgjerd says on his Vimeo site:

"The Sunset and Sunrise are connected in one magnificent show of color and light lasting from 8 to 12 hours. The sun is barely going below the horizon before coming up again. This is the most colorful light that I know, and the main reason I have been going up there for the last 4 years, at the exact same time of year, to photograph."

The trip, he recalls, included quiet a few setbacks, including lost luggage (thanks to the airline), a fall into the Arctic Sea, lost equipment, not to mention a fall off a tall rock and a subsequent trip to the hospital.

Sorgjerd's previously filmed the Milky Way from Spain's El Teide mountain, as well as a stunning view of the Northern Lights.
