The tradition of putting body parts on display is almost as old as religion itself. Reliquaries containing the hands, feet, teeth, and other parts of holy people have been touted around the globe for thousands of years. But 20th-century cultural icons and ancient historical figures? Yeah, those get around too.

While some are proudly on display, many are decidedly better hidden. But with careful planning and a discerning eye, there are some pretty incredible body parts to be seen out there. You just have to know where to look.

"The heart was sealed in a pillar of the Holy Cross Church in Warsaw where it has been ever since. It was even smuggled out of Warsaw for a time in 1944, a stroke of luck considering the original church was leveled that year during the Warsaw Uprising. The pillar with Chopin's heart is still a part of the now-rebuilt church, where you can visit it today."

This is from Chopin's Heart. How was the heart there ever since it was sealed in, if it was removed and taken out of the country for a while during 1944? FAIL.

What about John Dillinger's gonads. (I heard his endowment was something to marvel). Wonder how many parts have been taken over the years without the consent of the owner or family? Look at that undertaker in NYJ convicted a couple years ago of stealing parts to sell to parts banks. Some were from cancer victims and even 90+ year old Allister Cooke has his legs removed. Just think of what they do with the parts after they do an autopsy. I am not sure how they reinsert them back into the body or what ever they do with them.

Einstein did not will his brain to science. It should...or rather they should (all remaining bits and pieces) be buried with him. How horrid that this should have happened and never to have been made right through all these years. Princeton...will you do the right thing?

It was reported that Princeton doctors asked George W. Bush to comment on the finding and he reportedly said, "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."
