James Ogle

James Ogle
, a filmmaker who posts his videos on the perennially fantastic website Vimeo, has created an time-lapse video of New York City--complete with shots of Times Square, Lincoln Center, and Grand Central Station, among others.

The video gives a glimpse into the lives of New Yorkers (albeit the fast pace isn't nearly as fast as the video lets on) and shows the crowds around town. Ogle told AOL Travel that despite the film's beauty, "my timing definitely could have been better though because I ended up spending countless hours freezing my butt off in the winter chill."

When asked, it's hard from Ogle to pinpoint his favorite shots in the film, but the one he might just hold dearest is the shot of the Pepsi sign in Long Island City, a neighborhood which he used to call home.

There have been some fairly incredible time lapse videos recently. From the northern lights to Paris in 2,000 images to a cross-country road trip in 2 minutes, these types of videos are a quick and easy (and visually engaging) way to travel without leaving home.

Ogle's view of scenes from around town will encourage even the most jaded New Yorker to remember why they love the city.
