Seattle based Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air is recovering after a computer outage on Saturday caused about 150 flights to be canceled, impacting more than 12,000 passengers. A blown transformer caused the computer system used to plan flights to go offline and affected 18 percent of Alaska's flights.

By mid-Sunday, Alaska was able to restore its computer system and was trying to get passengers to their destination. "The computer system has been restored and our operation is returning to normal," Alaska spokeswoman Bobbie Eagan told AOL Travel News.

But there were long lines and delays reported including at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

One stranded family was trying to get to Disneyland, but found their flight canceled.

"I just want to go to Disneyland. I was actually really, really mad," Tim Houghton told KOMO.

Throughout the ordeal, both Alaska and Horizon had a strong presence via social media, trying to keep customers informed and helping stranded passengers.

Alaska President Brad Tilden and Horizon President Glenn Johnson Air posted a video on YouTube apologizing for any inconvenience the outage might have caused their passengers and giving an update on the repairs.

"On behalf of the 13,000 Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air employees, I offer my profound apology to customers inconvenienced by this disruption," said Tilden in a statement.

Alaska said it was not sure how long it might take to accommodate all remaining passengers.
