Ten pilots were fired following the test results, while 23 pilots from JetAirways were either suspended or faced a pay cut.
This has not been a good few weeks for Indian airlines: On March 9th, investigators for India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation found two pilots had forged their qualifying papers for a pilots license.
On Monday the Indian airline industry was hit by news that the licenses of 4,000 pilots across India were to be checked following several incidents like fake pilots found flying airlines with invalid licenses.

Drinking laws for pilots vary from country to country and India has a stricter requirement than most. If this was applied in the USA we would have even more pilots suspended. If you operate internationally you can subjected to the local laws of the country you are in so it is important to know what they are. Ignorance is no defense.

If you can't handle the job get the hell out before you kill a lot of people including yourselves. Flying is risky enough without having to worry if the pilots are shit faced or high, come on grow up & take responsibility for your actions, be a man or a woman whichever applies you know step up to the plate. instead of boohooin in your weaknesses. You do not have the right to be plastered or whatever when there are many lives at stake there is absolutely no excuse. You owe it to your passengers to do everything possible to ensure them a safe trip starting with your sobriety. It's a well know fact how stressful being a pilot is, but you have to be able to deal with it not make matters worse by hiding behind booze or drugs. Get help or get out before it's to late. If you don't care about your own life sad but fine don't take innocent people with you.
