Man Delays Flight Over Fear of Female Pilot

The middle-aged man became jittery when he heard the female pilot's voice as announcements were made on the Mumbai-bound Indigo airlines flight, according to various news reports.
The flight was already running late due to fog, but as the plane was cleared for takeoff the man began grumbling to other passengers he didn't want to fly on a plane flown by a woman, a source told The Times of India. He even called over a flight attendant to obejct.
The man said, "I don't want to die! She can't take care of the house, how will she take care of a plane," co-passenger Partha Guh told news agency IANS.
The disturbance reportedly went on for 40 minutes. Eventually airline security staff escorted the man off the flight.
The carrier confirmed a passenger was de-planed after he "misbehaved and showed disrespect to our crew members."
An airport official called the man "mentally unsound."

Fact is the mans fear were not unfounded. Because of past airline law suits women have been hired over better qualified men and because women pilots are in short supply the airlines are forced to take what they can get to meet quota's. 33 years as a ATP has taught me women can't fly any better than they can drive. However if you can type 10 words a minute you can operate a modern airliner. The women I know that fly for a 121 carrier have worn out at least a dozen knee pads to get there.

I don't blame the guy, leaving Newark N.J.for Tampa Fl, after service time in u.s.Air Force and spent much time flying, I started to say my prays as we were coming in to Tampa the pilot kept pushing the plane forward to kept the plane at the right speed for landing, She did seven times.Maybe she had a cell phone in one hand a cig in the other.
