Website Offers $1,500 in Prizes for the Best Travel Kiss

Just in time for Valentines Day, a website is offering $1,500 in prizes for the best travel kiss.

TravelPapa.com is asking travelers to submit pictures of kisses, and in return will dole out $500 for the photo with the most votes, $300 for second place, $200 for third, and another $500 for a favorite chosen by the TravelPapa team.

Looking through the gallery, there are pictures of kisses from all over the world. Couples lock lips in front of landmarks such as San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge and the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. A woman uses an optical illusion to make it appear like she is kissing the Sphinx in Egypt and a little girl smiles as she receives a kiss on the cheek from a dolphin. One couple leans over a line that marks the equator in Ecuador to plant a kiss that crosses hemispheres.

The best part of the contest may not be the prizes offered, but instead the heartwarming stories that come with the submissions.

The photo featured above is no exception. "My boyfriend and I live 4,000 miles away from one another ... We always share one last kiss before I return to the U.S.," writes Shannon Quinn, who hopes to use the prize money toward a plane ticket to see her boyfriend in Spain.

"It's always sad, but beautiful and I am glad we are able to share it with you," she adds.

The deadline for photo submissions and votes is midnight on February 13th. Winners will be announced on Valentine's day, February 14th.
