A Georgia man apparently had the equivalent of road rage on a Colorado ski slope. The man allegedly punched a 14-year-old girl in the face after accusing her of skiing into his four-year-old son.

Scott Filler, 41, of Decatur, Georgia, was charged with misdemeanor child abuse in the incident on the beginner's slope at Vail's Beaver Creek Resort.

Eagle County Sheriff's Lt. Mike McWilliam says the collision happened when the girl swerved to avoid a skier who had fallen and bumped into Filler's son. Filler responded by jumping on the girl and hitting her in the face with his fist until a ski instructor intervened.

McWilliam says Filler later apologized when he realized his son was not hurt. The 14-year-old girl, who is from Mexico, was treated for minor injuries at a nearby medical clinic.

Meanwhile, Filler has been designated persona non grata at Vail, his skiing privileges revoked at all six Vail resorts. He also faces up to two years in country jail.
