These days, we all want to make our dollars go further. That's especially true when it comes to stretching your Walt Disney World vacation budget. Here are some ways to make your Walt Disney World trip more affordable.
The best place to start looking for Walt Disney World discounts is online at Walt Disney World Special Offers. Disney usually has discounts on tickets, value-added options and discount hotel pricing.
Check with Your Travel Agency
Travel agencies often have access to special pricing which they can pass along to clients. The American Automobile Association of America is just one example. AAA members receive discounts when they purchase packages that include dining and lodging. The more you purchase with your package, the more the savings add up. You must purchase packages directly from your travel agent.
Disney Vacation Package
Disney vacation packages are a good way to make your dollar go further. Purchase one of the two Magic Your Way room and ticket packages below by September 2011, and you'll receive a free dining plan.
Book a 4-night/5-day non-discounted Magic Your Way package with Dining Plan at a select Disney Moderate Resort and you can save up to $599 for a family of four. Offer is valid for stays between August 8, 2011 and September 29, 2011.
Purchase a 4-night/5-day non-discounted Magic Your Way package at a Disney Value Resort with a Quick-Service dining plan, and you can save $467 for a family of four. Offers are always changing, so check online for more info.
Disney Hotel Discounts
Book a stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel before December 31, 2010, and you can save up to 35% off. The offer is good for most nights for a stay between February 17 and April 16, 2011. If you book between January 1 and February 13, 2011, you'll receive a 30% off discount. Disney hotel offers are always updated. Check online for more details.
Park Hopper Passes
Park Hopper Passes allow you to visit multiple parks on the same day, rather than purchasing separate tickets for each park. You pay one fee per day.
The more you play, the less you pay per day at Walt Disney World. In other words, buying a multi-day pass is cheaper than purchasing each day individually. You can purchase anywhere from a one-day to a 10-day ticket.
Magic Your Way
Walt Disney World has a personalized Magic Your Way ticket system that allows you to pick those features that suit your needs, including number of park entries, visits to other Disney attractions, dining, lodging and whether or not your tickets have an expiration date. Depending on what you choose, this can provide a good value.
Save on Dining
Eating at Walt Disney World can really add up. If you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, consider adding a dining plan to your vacation package. The Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining choices range from a fast-food dining package to a table-service plan to the full deluxe dining package, which includes three meals, two snacks and one refillable mug per person.
Disney pays tribute to America's armed forces by offering special discounts for U.S. military personnel. From January 2, 2011 through September 28, 2011, a 4-Day Military Promotional Ticket, which includes a Park Hopper or Water Parks option, is just $138 each. For $27 more, military guests can add both the Park Hopper and Water Parks option.
The offer is good for active and retired members of the U.S. Military, National Guard, Reservists and U.S. Coast Guard. Tickets may be purchased for military members and their family or friends, with a six ticket limit. Please bring your military ID for validation at the park ticket window. For more information, call (407) 939-7830 or your military base ticket office.
U.S. Military personnel may also receive up to 40% off at a Walt Disney World Resort for bookings before September 28, 2011. The offer is valid most nights through October 1, 2011. Discount not available November 24 – November 26, 2010, December 26 – December 31, 2010 or April 17 – April 30, 2011.
Florida Resident Ticket Discounts
Walt Disney World Resort offers discount pricing for Florida residents, including savings on one-day advance tickets, multi-day and Water Park tickets. For example, Florida residents receive half off on the Water Park Fun & More option when it's added to a Magic Your Way ticket. Florida residents also receive discounts on hotels, food and beverage at Walt Disney World. Check online for more information.
Florida Resident Annual Pass
Live in Florida? You might consider purchasing a Florida Resident Pass if you're a Disney fan. Five different passes are available, each offering a different level of benefits. Check online for the latest info. Floridians can even buy a pass with a monthly payment program, which spreads the cost out over 12 monthly payments. Pass holders also receive discounts on dining, recreation, tours, entertainment and merchandise.
If you live outside of Florida, you can still purchase an annual pass, which allows multiple entries throughout the year. Pricing depends on how many days you may enter the parks. See Walt Disney World for more info.
