If you're looking for the perfect escape for you and your new husband or wife, let AOL Travel help. Browse our handpicked list of the top honeymoon destinations for inspiration on romantic retreats. Some are domestic while others are more far flung, but each inspires a lust for life -- so imagine what these places can do for you and your new life partner. Not only have we included what draws couples to these places, but we went ahead and tried to get the scoop on any drawbacks you should consider -- besides, of course, dealing with the jealous stares from your friends and family when you return home. Bon voyage!

New York City
Think you and your new spouse may be in a New York state of mind? The Big Apple makes our cut of top honeymoon destinations for its many allures: take in dramatic views of the city, catch a play, stroll through Central Park, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, or explore the cultural and culinary institutions throughout the city. On top of that, you could always book a romantic hotel room and give new meaning to the nickname "The City That Never Sleeps."
The Draw: Horse drawn carriage rides through Central Park, Broadway theaters, elegant hotels and romantic dining options, along with too many other famous attractions to mention.
The Drawback: If you are looking for some peace and quiet, the fast-paced big city may not make your list of top honeymoon destinations.
Prime Time: For the best weather, visit April through August. However, many couples may enjoy the holiday festivities in the winter months.

Bahamas
If sunbathing on a quiet beach while you sip rum punch with your sweetheart sounds like the ideal honeymoon to you, the Bahamas is the perfect romantic retreat. Couples looking for some adventure can explore underground caves or seek out some of the islands' tropical wildlife, while those in need of some rest and relaxation can easily find what they are looking for. There are also tons of wedding and honeymoon packages if you're trying to find the perfect combination. The hardest part will be deciding which one of 29 islands you want to visit!
The Draw: Remote islands with sun drenched beaches and clear waters make this a top honeymoon destination.
The Drawback: Be careful which island you choose, or your honeymoon may be disturbed by hawkers on the beach or throngs of drunk spring breakers.
Prime Time: Skip out on hurricane season, typically June through November.

France

Historic inns and famous kissing spots put this age-old honeymoon destination at the top of many newlyweds' lists. The City of Lights has long been regarded as one of the most romantic places on earth, and from the Eiffel Tower to France's many famous bridges, the list of places to snuggle with your sweetheart seems to be getting longer and longer.
The Draw: Elegant hotels, gourmet dining, sidewalk cafes, and a little je ne sais quoi.
The Drawback: A honeymoon in France puts you right on the tourist path, and it can quickly become extremely pricey.
Prime Time: May through September brings the best weather, but the crowds are at a lull in October.

Tahiti
If you are looking to start your new life in paradise, try the sun, surf, sand and seclusion of Tahiti. Part of the French Polynesian islands, Tahiti is perfect for those looking for a romantic, tropical getaway. There are 118 islands here, most offering isolated bungalows and secluded beaches. Take your pick or hop around!
The Draw: The warm waters of the Pacific, enchanting blue lagoons, and colorful coral reefs.
The Drawback: Getting to and from Tahiti can be costly and take a long time (an eight hour flight from Los Angeles). Also, you may not be as pampered as at other top honeymoon destinations.
Prime Time: January can see rain for a week at a time, so try the dry season from May to October.

Florida
One of the top honeymoon destinations in the U.S. is Florida, a state that offers tons of possibilities for newlyweds from coast to coast. From the sugary sand of Pensacola to the thumping nightlife of Miami, there are 1,800 miles of coastline here to charm you and your new spouse. And let's not forget about Disney World and the Florida Keys.
The Draw: Easy access to beautiful beaches, world-class golf clubs, and much, much more.
The Drawback: If you plan on driving, expect tons of traffic and the hordes of people that come with it. During the summer months, the weather is extremely humid.
Prime Time: The weather is generally mild, but temperatures soar in August and September. Hurricane season is considered to be June to November, when there can also be a lot of afternoon rains.

Costa Rica
Costa Rica has so much to offer a newlywed couple: relax on tucked away beach resort, stay in an isolated bungalow in the exotic rainforest, or let yourself be pampered at the spa while you take in volcano views. This top honeymoon destination promises unique experiences whether you choose to stay beachside of go off the beaten track.
The Draw: Jungle hideaways in the remote rainforest, hidden beaches, and lodges set in coffee fincas.
The Drawback: Stay away during the rainy season, when many of the roads become impassable.
Prime Time: December and January are the best months, but stay out of the rain from May through mid-November.

Las Vegas
Las Vegas may be better known for spur-of-the-moment weddings, but the glitz and glamour is alluring for all sorts of honeymooners. Luxurious hotels, gourmet dining, and unparalleled entertainment options rank Las Vegas among the top honeymoon destinations in the world. Many hotels have their own chapel if you're looking to elope!
The Draw: Exquisite hotel rooms, mouthwatering buffets, and innumerable nightlife options.
The Drawback: The cost of a honeymoon in Las Vegas can get out of hand real fast -- especially if you find out your newly beloved has a gambling problem.
Prime Time: July and August are the best months to snag deals, but Las Vegas is a good bet any time of the year.

Bermuda
Let yourself get lost in Bermuda, the perfect spot for newlyweds to relax and get to know each other better. Bermuda is a collection of 150 islands, including 10 that are linked by bridges and causeways. If you and your spouse are into golf or tennis, this is the perfect spot: Bermuda possesses the largest amount of golf courses per square mile in the world, and there are enough tennis courts to match at this top honeymoon destination.
The Draw: Quaint, isolated cottages near clear waters crashing on soft, pink sand. Plus, it's only a 2-3 hour plane ride from most locations along the East Coast.
The Drawback: Car rentals are forbidden, so if you can't imagine traversing the island by moped or taxi, this may not be the place for you. Also, those looking for nightlife will not find it in this tranquil and peaceful honeymoon spot.
Prime Time: May through October are the best months to get your beach on, while the rest of the year is a bit too cold for shore side activities.

Italy
Ah, Italia. Just the thought of it conjures images of tables for two and canoodling couples. It's clear why this is a top honeymoon destination--Italy has captured the hearts of newlyweds for centuries, with more charming places than you can probably imagine; take your pick from Florence, Rome, Venice, Tuscany, Sicily or the Amalfi coast. The entire country is a feast for your senses, promising unforgettable memories for you and your new spouse. One visit and you'll be singing "that's amore."
The Draw: Relaxing under the Tuscan sun, navigating the canals of Venice and uncovering the cultural treasures of Rome.
The Drawback: Italy is often swarming with tourists, and the prices can be steep if you do not plan properly.
Prime Time: Try to avoid visiting Italy in July and August, when temperatures can become uncomfortably hot and most cities are full of tourists.

Hawaii
Do we really need to explain why Hawaii takes the number one spot on our list of top honeymoon destinations? By land or by sea, Hawaii is the perfect destination for newlyweds. Imagine taking in the smell of fresh, exotic flowers and spectacular landscapes with your sweetheart. Lounge together on sandy white shores or go on an adventure together as you surf, sail or snorkel. The best way to say "goodbye" to your single life is while sipping a mai tai.
The Draw: Far flung beaches budding up to turquoise waters and lush landscapes. Best of all, you don't need a passport to reach a place that feels like another world.
The Drawback: Like many other places on the list, you won't be the only traveler in Hawaii. In fact, tourists outnumber Hawaiians by 6 to 1, and Hawaiian natives by 30 to 1.
Prime Time: The rainy season is from November to March, and the tourist season is from December to April.

hi,,, i like this post so great informatin here...i want to say about Australia's Kimberly Coast, is one of the most spectacular landscapes anywhere, but the best way to experience it is by boat, which allows you to explore the many rivers that cut deep into the coast, the offshore islands and the offshore reefs. Montgomery Reef, which is 20 km offshore, is only accessible by boat. There are only a few ships sailing the coast - my personal favorit.. visit this : http://physictourism.com/
