1. Ride Along on an Urban Safari
Just because you aren't out on the savannah in Africa doesn't mean you can't go on a safari! Take an urban safari in an authentic Trabant car through the streets of Berlin. These very old East German-made vehicles are incredibly silly and driving them is a fun adventure in Berlin. Trabi Safari will get you behind the wheel of one of these tiny motorized cars that resemble sardine cans.
Pack in three of your closest friends to ride along for the tour. Don't worry; you won't get lost on this tour because you will follow a guide that rides ahead of you in a separate Trabant. Commentary on what you see along your route is played over the radio for all to hear. While the tour itself is interesting, the real daring adventure in Berlin is driving one of these ridiculous little cars. Each Trabant has a unique look and many of them are convertibles making the experience much more fun!

2. Sing Karaoke in the Park
Singing karaoke is hardly a daring adventure, but singing in front of thousands of screaming people is more than a vacation adventure in Berlin; it's a once in a lifetime experience that will probably never present itself again. Muster up all of your courage and show up on Sunday for the Bearpit Karaoke in Mauerpark. If you don't get enough excitement from singing in front of 2000 people, perhaps you will get excited about having your singing posted on the Bearpit's YouTube channel so you can share your singing with the rest of the world. This definitely stands out as one of the most unique and thrilling things you can do for free in Berlin. Daring adventure or life-changing experience, this is one that you will never forget!
Bearpit Karaoke, Mauerpark; Sun 1PM-5PM
3. Dine in the Dark
Dining in a strange city may be enough of an adventure activity in Berlin for some, but the truly daring will dine in the dark. Eating a meal in the dark may seem like it wouldn't be very difficult, but it is both difficult and exciting. Unsicht-Bar will enlighten you on the adventures of dark dining.
Being deprived of your vision, you spend your time fumbling for your fork and trying to get a morsel of food into your mouth. After you succeed, you realize that you need something to drink, only to find it is very difficult to locate your beverage and take a sip without spilling it all over yourself and your dining companions.
This unique family adventure in Berlin is not just a novelty; the food is actually quite excellent. The lack of light allows you to concentrate on the tastes, textures, and smells that you normally would not notice. You will immediately notice that the flavors of your food are much more intense and exciting.
Don't worry, the staff will provide you with tips and instructions on how to find your food and eat without making a big mess. Ordering is done before you go into the dark dining room, but if you are looking for an even more daring adventure, let the staff choose your menu so you will be completely surprised.

4. Become a Street Artist
We're not suggesting that you quit your job and become a Berlin street artist, but you will definitely have a great family adventure in Berlin learning how to create your own street art and graffiti. This 2.5-hour walking tour and workshop puts you in touch with some of Berlin's most creative street artists. The artists you meet will talk freely about techniques, materials, and answer all of your questions. Also, you will learn the stories behind the artists and the pieces you see along the tour.
The tour provides a great way to see a part of Berlin you would not know about otherwise. You can also try creating your own street art, and whatever you create you can bring home as a souvenir. Alternative Berlin offers both free and paid tours, but it is worth opting for the paid tour on this adventure activity in Berlin because the group size is much smaller and you are guaranteed a spot. Also, the experience is much more personal as you interact with the artists.
Alternative Berlin, Winsstr. 24, 10405 Berlin; +49 162 81 98 264; Euros ($20 USD); No reservations necessary; free tours daily at 11AM and 1PM, Street Art Workshops Wed and Thu at 1:30PM
5. Take a Sip of the Green Fairy
Absinthe is a distilled spirit that was consumed by many famous artists and writers including Picasso, Van Gogh, and Hemingway. Known as "The Green Fairy," absinthe was thought to cause insanity, fits of violence, and immediate drunkenness. However, it is unclear if the drink actually caused any of these problems. It is more likely that absinthe was dangerous because of chemicals added in the 19th century. It was illegal for many decades.
Today, absinthe is made without these dangerous ingredients, but its dangerous reputation still exists. It is now legal and available at the Absinth Depot Berlin where you can try dozens of different types of absinthe, a daring activity on your adventure vacation in Berlin.
Absinth Depot Berlin, Weinmeisterstrasse 4, 10178 Berlin-Mitte; Phone: +49 (0)30 281 6789; Mon-Fri 2PM-midnight, Sat 1PM-midnight
