Planning a night on the town in Reno? You'll be greeted by a number of bars and nightclubs serving cocktails, beer and wines. If you know where to look, you'll find that the city's bars offer a number of great drink specials. Visit these spots and enjoy the best happy hour in Reno.

Scruples Bar and Grill

91 W. Plumb Lane
Reno, NV 89509
775-322-7171

Happy Hour: Monday-Friday 3PM-6PM
Best Deal: Discounted domestic bottles, $2.00 grilled cheese, $2.50 Long Island Iced Teas/Margaritas/Bloody Marys

One of Reno's premiere watering holes, you will be hard pressed to find better service or a better happy hour anywhere. One of my favorite features is the small enclosed patio with its very own bar. You can grab some cocktails, sample some free bar food, and watch the sun set over the horizon. It doesn't get much better than that. On second thought, it actually does. When you visit Scruples for what could possibly be the best happy hour in Reno, you can enjoy discounted domestic bottles, $2.00 grilled cheese, Long Island Iced Teas, margaritas and Bloody Marys for $2.50, and, of course, the daily specials available on the happy hour menu. Sure, Reno has other locations that may have more space and more creative decor, but if simple is what you're looking for, you will feel right at home.
Be sure to try: Atomic wings with a sweet cocktail to cool your palette.

Coach's Bar And Grill
1573 S. Virginia Street
Reno, NV 89502
775-329-2202

Happy Hour: Monday-Friday 3:30PM-6:30PM
Best Deal: $1 off all well drinks and draft beers

Coach's is the perfect place in Reno to have some cocktails, grab a bite, or play a game of pool any time of the day. Coach's is like any other traditional sports bar, but it offers the added bonus of an upscale dining menu. Coach's specialty, Shrimp Kisses, is shrimp stuffed with jalapeño peppers and cheese, wrapped in bacon and fried or broiled. Elsewhere on the menu, you'll find chicken wings, burgers, calamari rings, salads, pizza, and pasta. Local breweries are well represented on tap. You will be sure to find more than enough entertainment at this local bar in Reno, with pool tables, a full arcade, shuffleboard and an Internet jukebox.
Be sure to try: Coach's happy hour specials, which include $1.00 off all well drinks and draft beers and enough free pretzels and chips to feed a small army.

Great Basin Brewing Company
5525 S. Virginia Street
Reno, NV 89502
775-284-7711

Happy Hour: Wednesday-Monday 3PM-6PM, all day Tuesday
Best Deal: $3.00 Pints

Great Basin is regionally famous for creating some of the most unique beer flavors on the West Coast. The food is spectacular. It's a little expensive, but the quality more than makes up for it. The bartenders are very friendly and offer samples of all beers on tap. "Try before you buy" is their motto, and they are happy to let you sample as many as you wish. Here in Reno, their happy hour specials are very reasonable, offering $3.00 pints, $3.00 well shots and $5.00 José Cuervo margaritas on the rocks. The combination of the Victorian-style exterior and modern interior decor gives Great Basin Brewing Company a vibe unlike any other in Reno.
Be sure to try: Bison burger with any of Great Basin's Indian pale ales.
