Delta Air Lines says a 57-year-old woman died on a flight from Lagos, Nigeria to Atlanta. The woman was found unresponsive about 11 hours into the Boeing 777 flight, and about one hour from Atlanta, Delta spokeswoman Susan Elliott tells The Associated Press.
A medical examiner was sent to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to examine the body, and determined Aolatou Assani died of ovarian cancer.
The FBI was also briefly involved in the investigation because the incident occurred on an international flight.
