Airlines are launching another wave of short-term airfare sales, urging travelers to book deals before they're gone.

The limited time offers are being advertised by budget carriers JetBlue, AirTran, Virgin America, and Frontier.

JetBlue is currently offering one-way nonstop flights starting at only $29, but travelers have to act quickly -- the sale ends today, March 24th, at 11:59 pm EDT. The low fare applies to several routes, including one from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau. Tickets must be booked for travel between April 13th and June 16th, and travelers should be aware of a 14-day advance purchase requirement. Those looking to take advantage of the deal should also note that the cheapest seats can only be found when flying on a Tuesday or a Wednesday, and that blackout dates and fees may apply. Other one-way sample fares include $39 from New York City to Washington, DC and $79 from Boston to Chicago.

AirTran also kicked off some savings this week, announcing fares as low as $44 one way for flights through November 16th. Sample one-way fares include $44 for travel between Charlotte and Atlanta, and $89 from Orlando to New York City. Tickets for AirTran's sale must be purchased by 11:59 pm ET on March 25th, and require a 10-day advance purchase. Some blackout dates apply.

Frontier's sale stretches one day further, ending on Friday, March 26th at 11:59 pm EDT. Fares begin at $39 one-way for travel between Denver and Albuquerque. Other fares offered by the discount carrier include $64 from Las Vegas to Denver, and $89 from Milwaukee to San Francisco. While the carrier touches down in more than 50 locations throughout the United States, Mexico, and Costa Rica, many of their lowest fares can be found flying to and from their Denver hub. Tickets must be purchased for travel through June 9th, and like the sale offered by JetBlue, Frontier also requires a 14-day advance purchase.

Lastly, Virgin America lets travelers contemplate their purchase through the weekend, with their sale ending Monday, March 29th at 11:59 pm PDT. Like most of the other sales, a 14-day advance purchase is required, and rates are subject to blackout dates and restricted travel days. Travelers willing to cut through the red tape will find rates starting at $59 on various routes, including one from San Francisco to Las Vegas.

These mid-week sales mirror discounted fares offered earlier this month. Just two weeks ago, several carriers, including JetBlue and AirTran, temporarily lowered their prices for a two-day flash sale.

None of the airlines have disclosed how many seats will be sold at the discounted prices, or when other sales are planned.

Now, I'm not too good at 'rithmetic an all, but does this mean that instead of the multi-millions we're spending to keep illegal immigrants in jail until they are "processed out", for as low as $29 dollars - one way, which is all we need - we could be sending these folks back to thier REAL homes?
